About Agile
Agile was built to give Canadian business owners current books, clear reporting, and real accountant support without making bookkeeping the centre of their week. We combine CPA-managed review, smart technology, and a human team so owners can spend less time chasing details and more time leading their business.
Our origin
Agile's founders, Mitchal and Brenton, are CPAs who spent years building high-value dashboards, reporting systems, and automations for accounting departments. The work was meant to give leaders clearer numbers and better decisions.
But the same problem kept showing up. When the books underneath were not clean, current, and complete, business owners still could not get the answers they needed. Reporting became harder to maintain, decisions stayed murky, and everyone kept chasing the same missing details.
That was the moment of clarity: the best way to help small business owners was not just better reporting. It was better bookkeeping. Clean books, reviewed every week, supported by smart automation and real CPA judgment, so owners can finally trust what their numbers are telling them.
A note from our founder
We built Agile because owners deserve to feel in control of their books, not buried by them.
I have seen how much pressure owners carry when their bookkeeping is behind, unclear, or hard to trust. It affects cash flow, taxes, payroll, decisions, and the quiet confidence people need to run a business.
As CPAs, we knew clean books could give owners real clarity. As builders, we believed the repetitive work could be redesigned. Agile exists to take the manual, mundane work out of bookkeeping so owners can stay current in less than five minutes each week while still being supported by real accountants who understand the details.
That is the standard we are building toward: technology that removes friction, and people who bring judgment, care, and context where it matters most.
Mitchal Derksen, CPA, CAFounder, Agile BookkeepingHow we work
We use software, automation, and AI to make bookkeeping faster, cleaner, and easier to stay on top of. But the goal is not to remove people from the work. The goal is to give our accounting team more room for review, communication, and the decisions that require human care.
Routine collection, matching, tracking, and open items are designed to move with as little friction as possible.
Our team focuses on exceptions, reconciliations, tax details, and the context behind the numbers.
Business is personal. We want owners to feel known, supported, and confident that someone is paying attention.
We keep asking how the work can be clearer, faster, kinder, and more useful for the people relying on it.
What guides us
The details matter, but so does the way we show up. We care about honest communication, long-term relationships, thoughtful ownership, and making bookkeeping feel calmer for the people behind the business.
Owners deserve direct answers, thoughtful communication, and a team that does not hide behind accounting jargon.
We are not chasing transactions. We are building durable relationships with organizations that want to understand their numbers.
Good bookkeeping depends on people who care enough to notice what is missing, follow through, and make the work better.
Every business has a story behind the books. We listen first so our support fits the real world our clients are operating in.
Our team
Agile is powered by a Canadian team of accountants, bookkeepers, and builders who care about clean books and the people who rely on them. The technology helps the work move faster, but the heart of the service is still human: people reviewing, communicating, solving problems, and helping owners feel lighter.
